Y Sap Mine, La Boiselle

Written by Mike

The Y Sap mine was one of a number exploded by the British under the German front line at 07.28 – two minutes before zero hour – on 1 July 1916.

The crater was filled in during the late 1970s, though its previous position is easily discernible from the marks in the soil in this aerial picture of La Boiselle shot in 1993.
