The 2nd Canadian Cemetery contains the graves of 44 soldiers of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Battalions who died in September and October 1916.  It covers an area of 383 square metres and a low red brick wall encloses it.

The 2nd Canadian Cemetery is in the Vallée du Bios Derrieux.  The cemetery made during July to October 1916.

The 2nd Canadian Cemetery is located approximately 1.5km north of Contalmaison, east of the road to Pozières.  The cemetery lies in the fields a little east of this road and is to the north of a farm track which approaches the cemetery.

The Sunken Road from which these cemeteries are named is part of the Contalmaison to Pozières road.
