The village of Fricourt from the south west.  Fricourt is in the centre, with the Bois de Fricourt beyond it. 

The main road running up the picture is the D938 Albert to Péronne road. 

Beyond Fricourt, Mametz can be discerned (upper centre), with Mametz Wood upper left. 

Note the extensive soil marks in the brown field on the right edge of the picture probably indicating the line of the trenches.
