As you drive along the highway between Paphos and Limassol, you can't help but notice the new wind farm being built at Orites.

Yesterday work took me to Secret Valley, so I went to go and have a closer look.

Akamas is a wild area in Paphos Region in the northwest of Cyprus. It covers an area of about 230 square kilometres.

It is named after the son of Theseus, hero of the Trojan Wars and founder of the city-kingdom of Soli.

During our family holiday to Paphos, my daughter Jo and wife Pam had gone horse riding. We’d driven past ‘George’s Ranch’ in Agios Georgios a load of times, and many times been in to try to get Jo a go. And this time we’d struck lucky.

So my lad Will and I were left with an hour to kick our heels whilst they went riding…
