As you drive along the highway between Paphos and Limassol, you can't help but notice the new wind farm being built at Orites.

Yesterday work took me to Secret Valley, so I went to go and have a closer look.

It was good fun trying to get up to the wind farm.  The well made road up through Secret Valley finished abruptly, and then we were into serious 4x4 stuff.

It took low ratios and and a lot of nerve to get up the loose track, and I confess to bottling out eventually.  There must be another way up, and one day I'll find it.

I had in mind a telephoto shot pulling in as many of the turbines as I could with the sea as a backdrop, but it wasn't to be.  One day with more time I'll have another look.

In the meantime, I got some nice pictures of a few of the turbines, but I will be back.  There's about a dozen turbines at the moment - by the end of the year there'll be more than 40.

See my Kouklia Album for more pictures of Orites Wind Farm.
