Birthday Treat

It was my birthday last week, so we took an afternoon off to head for the hills.

We went up through Aigos Fotios, cut across to the deserted village at Vretsia, and then down the track to the Roudia Bridge.

The bridge was very special.  Caught in the dappled sunlight of the trees, the light and shadow was great fun to play with.

Of course it had to get silly too, playing with some splashing water, 1/10th of a second and rear curtain flash.  I love abstract pictures!

From there we head up again past the dam at Arminou, through the valley near Panayia tou Sindi, and then up, up, up towards Galataria.

On the way up you pass a little chapel about 2km before Galataria.  I've passed this way before, but the light has never been right.

On this occasion it was about as perfect as it gets, so we plaed with the last rays before the sun dipped over the hill.
