Kannaviou is one of the villages you tend to drive through as you head from Paphos to the mountains of Cyprus' interior.

Famous for anything? Apart from the dam above the village, I don't think so.

Particularly attractive? No not really, in fact pretty scruffy.

We were heading for Panagia on our way to the hills - so decided to stop and have a look at Kannaviou as we passed through.  The first shot was of a little church taken from above the village before the road descends into it.  The rest were shot by the reservoir behind the dam above the village.  Nothing in the village itself.  Perhaps inspiration was missing me that day!

We wanted a look at the dam - or more specifically the reservoir behind it.  We'd looked about a month ago, and the rains of the recent weeks had definitely filled the reservoir considerably.  Hopefully there won't be water shortages this summer!

This time of year in Cyprus is stunning.  Everywhere you look the Spring flowers are in full bloom.  So of course I had to have a play with that lot.  Call me soft but I'm a sucker for flowers!  Check out the results yourself in my Album of pictures of Kannaviou.
