Lunch In The Square At Tala

Written by Mike
Tala - traditional Cypriot village or tourist hotspot? Tala - traditional Cypriot village or tourist hotspot?

I'd arranged to meet Pam for lunch in the square at Tala.  It's not a place we've been before beyond driving past.

I got there fifteen minutes early, so took a little stroll in the hot Cypriot sunshine.  There's times when I wish a Nikon D700 and three big f2.8 zoom lenses didn't weigh so much!

I have to say I approached Tala with a degree of scepticism.

We have this view that most British people who come to live in Cyprus form themselves into 'little-England' style communities and rebuff the native Cypriot culture.  And one of those 'little-England' communities is Tala.

Despite all that, Tala square is pretty picturesque.  A nice selection of tavernas, and a lot of real Cypriot culture.

Check out the pictures at the Tala Album in the Cyprus section of the Gallery.
