Belarus MT3 tractor

There's an old guy who lives on the edge of Kathikas who uses a couple of ancient tractors to tend his fields.  There's something quite appealing about them - they're old, they're chunky and they're a bright orange/red colour.

As I drove past yesterday with the camera bag on the back seat, it was time to investigate.

The Purple Vineyard, Kathikas

I'd seen this field a few times as I drove by, and yesterday found the time to visit it with the camera.  In all my travelling around Cyprus, it's the only vineyard I've seen filled with purple flowers.

Blossom in the breeze

As you drive out of Kathikas heading towards Stroumbi, you pass a little triangular vineyard on the top of a ridge.  And in that vineyard, there’s a tree that’s in blossom.

As I drove past this time, the sun was behind the tree, lighting it up beautifully.  I was in a hurry, but this deserved a ten minute stop.

When You See Something, Stop!

I'd been in Coral Bay and Tala doing some commercial work.  That was wrapped up, and I was on my way home.

It was one of those days you get in Cyprus in the Autumn with perfect light.  Sure it was approaching midday, but the low Autumn sun raking across the countryside made everything look great and brought a smile to your face.
