Adonis Rally

Today was the Adonis Rally, run through Paphos Forest in Cyprus.  I love it up there, the peace and tranquility is amazing at any time of the year.  Today was different.  The mountainsides reverberated with the roar of fast cars.

Snow in Cyprus

Snow just isn’t very common in Cyprus, apart from on the higher parts of the Troodos Mountains.

So it was bit of a surprise to look out on Thursday morning and see snow on the ridge above Panagia.

Playing With Abstractions In Paphos Forest

I'd gone up to Paphos Forest near Panagia to take pictures of the 2009 Troodos Rally

With things like that you never know how easy its going to be to find a position, so I'd given myself plenty of time.

Which in turn meant I found myself sitting in the sunshine among the trees waiting for the cars to arrive.

Pano Panagia

Pano Panagia (to give it its full name) is a village in the hills leading up to the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus.

It's heavily associated with Archbishop Makarios, and so is well established on the tourist trail.
