D1786 was built at the Brush Falcon Works in Loughborough, entering service on 26 November 1964 at Tinsley.
Under TOPS the locomotive was renumbered 47.305 in February 1974.
The locomotive was withdrawn from service in March 1999 and cut up by R Garrett at Crewe Basford Hall yard in March 1993.
