Sadly I’m old enough to remember it spending its final days in the North West in 1967 and 1968.
The photo charter earlier this year with 45110 was wonderful. So may preserved locomotives are just too pristine to be convincing. In April this year 45110 looked wonderfully wear-stained.
The Severn Valley Railway is unquestionably in the Premier League of heritage railways.
It was a real shame it took such a beating from the weather last year – but it’s recovered and is better than ever.
