As a part of the site updating, the Great Central Railway Galleries have been updated and many new pictures added.

The GCR is one of may favourites.  It’s also the closest real heritage railway to home.  And Russ Hillier organises loads of photo charters there.

So over the years, I’ve taken a lot of pictures between Loughborough and Leicester North.

Looking back over the pictures they brought a flood of memories.  Freezing during January night shoots.  Getting soaked at any time of the year.  Having a really good laugh with everybody else.

There’s a bunch of pictures of the suitcases at Loughborough station.

Why?  It was a really crap, wet afternoon.  We’d given up with 4141 and most had retired to the caff to keep warm and dry.  The mad element refused to give up, so out came tripods and flashguns and the suitcases became the star of the day.

See my album of Great Central Railway pictures.
