This view is looking down the slopes the British had to fight their way up.

The wood on the left is Thiepval Wood.

Immediately to its right (on the left of the minor road) is the Connaught Cemetery.

The 36th (Ulster) Division Memorial can be discerned in the wooded area in the centre of the picture will Mill Road Cemetery to its right.

Soil marks across the fields indicate the site of the trenches.

Beaumont Hamel Meoril Park can be discerned in the distance, surrounded by a line of trees.

March 13, 1993.  (93/102/12)
