A disused quarry surrounded by a row of poplars (upper centre) marks the extremity of what was the Liepzig Redoubt. 

The cemetery in the foreground is the Lonsdale Cemetery – so named because many of the 11th Border Battalions known as the ‘Lonsdales’ are buried there.
