D1928 / 47.251 / 47.589 / 47.827 / 57.302

D1928 was built by Brush at the Falcon Works in Loughborough, entering service at Bristol Bath Road on 21 January 1966.

Under TOPS the locomotive as renumbered 47.251.  It was subsequently renumbered 47.589 in June 1983 and then 47.827 in May 1989.

The locomotive was then rebuit as a Class 57, becoming 57.302 in August 2002.

57.302 was named 'Thunderbirds Virgil Tracy' at Brush Traction works without ceremony in July 2002.

57.302 is currently operational with Virgin Trains.
