Gordon Cemetery, Mametz.  The Gordon Cemetery contains a total of 97 graves of which 94 are of men of the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders, of the 7th Division.  They were killed on 1 July 1916 and buried in their own support trench in a double semi-circle around the Cross of Sacrifice.  March 19, 1994.  (94/104/16A) Gordon Cemetery, Mametz. The Gordon Cemetery contains a total of 97 graves of which 94 are of men of the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders, of the 7th Division.  They were killed on 1 July 1916 and buried in their own support trench in a double semi-circle around the Cross of Sacrifice.

 

Also in the Gordon Cemetery are the graves of three artillerymen killed on 9 July 1916.  Just five of the 97 graves in the cemetery are unknown.

The Gordon Cemetery is a small, isolated cemetery situated 1km south of Mametz, to the east of the D938.
